New da Vinci Latest Generation Surgical Robot

Meeting our goal of providing our customers with the latest technological breakthroughs, Hospital Universitario La Zarzuela has added a new latest generation da Vinci Surgical Robot to its Advanced Robotic Surgery UnitVinci X and Xi™. This robot facilitates complex surgery using a minimally invasive approach and improves the features of the previous model: improved crystal clear definition, no calibration d, florescent imaging and greater flexibility for a better view of the area undergoing surgery.

It has a larger operating field than any other surgical method and greater precision and stability of the human hand, thereby multiplying the success of the operation and significantly reducing the level of invasiveness, risk and complications, in addition to patient recovery time.

  • Better view, as the image is available in 3D.
  • Greater precision of the surgeon in dissection tasks.
  • It enables the surgeon to reach any area of the operating field more easily.
  • It optimises the view of the vascular and nerve structures, making it easier to preserve them.
  • Mechanical improvements to the instrumentation, with “wristed” instruments.
  • Instrument stabilisation (reducing possible shaking hands).
  • Increased ergonomics for the surgeon.
  • Reduced complication rates.
  • Reduced days in hospital.
  • Reduced blood loss.

The da Vinci Surgical System is a technique used in urological, gynaecological, general surgery and digestive system surgical procedures for the following diseases:

  • Advanced robotic radical prostatectomy
  • Cystoprostatectomy
  • Renal surgery: Pyeloplasty, simple and radical Nephrectomy

  • Benign hysterectomy
  • Myomectomy
  • Colposacropexy
  • Gynaecological oncology

General and digestive system surgery
